My Mom

Monday, December 29th, 2008

Thanks to all for your prayers for my family. I haven’t heard anything from my SIL, but I guess no news is good news in that regard. My mom is doing better from what I hear. She is out of the hospital and in a care center. I know it was hard for her to not be home for Christmas, and then with the storms she wasn’t able to have many visitors on Christmas Day, either. I know that she was caroled to by some sweet people going around a few days before, and I am sure that made her day.

Here is a recent picture of my mom with Faith when she came down to visit me in November. WE are hopeful that with the surgery she underwent she will be in better health than she has been in years before too long. Sione is planning on starting to train her for next year’s St. George marathon. 😉

Happy Birthday, Alena!

Saturday, December 27th, 2008

I can’t believe my Princess Alena is now 7 years old! She is such a sweet girl, and keeps us smiling. She loves to talk to people and readily tells them “I like to talk” unapologetically. :-)

When they called her name in primary for us to sing to her for her birthday this last Sunday she started saying no because it wasn’t her birthday that day. She kept saying “My birthday is two days after Christmas” until I told her to go up and get sung to. LOL

Here is Alena with our other blue-eyed girl, Faith. Alena has been so happy to no longer be the only blue eyed sibling. You can’t see it in this picture, of course, but I will try to get a good picture of her eyes up for you to see.

Happy Birthday Alena!

Ward Christmas Party!

Saturday, December 27th, 2008

A little late, but here are some recent pictures at the ward Christmas Party. Can you believe it, Sione helped me post pictures!

Alena and Santa

Alena and Santa

Alena enjoyed letting Santa know how he disappointed her last year. She told St. Nick not to let it happen again.

Tevita and Santa

Tevita enjoys a moment with Santa. He really, really, really, wants a new “Lightning McQueen” car.

Losahina wasn’t too sure about Kris Kringle so she was very happy that her big sister came to save her.

Collin?

Collin?

I think this blur might be Collin but I’m not sure. He was moving too fast at the party.

I was finally able to get a picture of Collin at the party. I didn’t get a picture of him on Santa’s lap because he pushed a couple little kids out of the way so he could be the first in line. He had already seen Santa before I knew Santa was there. So this is the picture I was able to get of him. By the way, his face DID freeze like that.

Prayers Please

Wednesday, December 3rd, 2008

My mom and SIL could use some prayers right now.  My mom, whose health was already not so great before the car accident in June, has now just gone through surgery and is in the ICU.  Over the Thanksgiving weekend she started feeling really bad, was in a lot of pain, and had some other symptoms.  They took her into the ER and they started running tests.  Now she is recovering from surgery, and they said she may end up needing to stay in the hospital for a few weeks.  I feel so badly that I am not there to help out.  I wish I could be there.

I also just found out that today my SIL, who is due the end of this month to the middle of next month, went to the hospital today because of some pains.  That is all I know, and I am praying that she and her baby will be alright.  Please keep them all in your prayers right now.

As a bit of an update on us, Sione is still having to go up to SL weekly.  I’m not dealing with that very well right now.  I hate having him gone so much, and especially during the holiday season and while I am worrying about my mom.  I know he needs to be there taking care of stuff at work, and I trying to make sure I am being supportive, but it is hard and I miss him a lot.

Faith is growing like the little seed in the primary song.  She does have blue eyes.  Alena is thrilled.  She keeps thanking Faith a few times a day for “changing your eyes to blue.”  Faith is so sweet and mellow.  She deals with all of the kisses and loves from her siblings ver well.

Tevita got invited to another birthday party this week.  He is happy as a lark and keeps showing me his invitation.  He is so excited to go.  I’m so happy for him.

I was telling Losahina that she is beautiful today and she told me “I cute” to which I responded “yes, you are cute.”  Then she said “I a pie.”  This took me back a little.  Then I realized she was saying she was a cutie pie!  LOL.  I laughed and said “yes, you are a cutie pie.”  To which she responded with “I a lady,” which is her latest thing she likes to tell everyone.  It is particularly funny to hear her use it as her reason why she should get her way.  If something is not going her way she will loudly state that she is “a lady” and expect that to clear everything up in her favor.  She als likes to tell me very matter of factly that “faith a knowing, mom!”  and loves to sing that song to Faith all of the time.
